Yes! We do collect a $25 wildlife fee when the animal is being dropped off. This ensures that we have the funds to tend to the animal and give it all of the care that it may need in order to be released.
No, we suggest that if the animal is unable to be returned to its mother's care, then you should call a licensed rehabber. These rehabbers can be found in a list located on the DNR's website.
No, we cannot leave our office during work hours, because we would like to offer our full attention to the patients in the facility.
Though there are lots of people who want to take in the fluffy, feathered, and/or scaly animals from the wild, we typically recommend releasing them back to their natural habitat. If you do decide to go for it and keep the animal, check with state and local laws, to see if you need to attain a permit in order to house said animal.
